Those currently left in with a shout

22- Blue Belle, Danny 1312 (plus 2 anonymous people)
23 - Tanaqui (plus 1 anonymous)
24 - VHughes (plus 1 anonymous)
25 - Indiana, Seagull, The Addict
26 - goldfish

So with points for the top 10 predictors ( and ties ) in each of the Slams for Jon's 2025 Slam Championship, these 12 will be the ones to get the first points of the year.

Any of the relevant anonymous folk wish to declare?

Unclaimed, do we then effectively ignore them, and give points to the other 8 plus the 3 who went for 21?

Thanks Indy - yes, we will only allocate points to the people who are closest and name themselves, the top 10 named people, anonymous folks are almost as if they didnt exist!

one thing though - it isnt necessarily the folks above - if the wins stopped now, players at 21 or 20 or maybe even lower (and have been counted out of winning) may in fact be among the 10 closest players. So dont ignore those just yet!

So if we ended on 22, the 10 closest would be between 19 and 25 in fact - Goldfish isnt quite in the points scoring yet! One more win or more wins will change that range and equation.

Voting low isnt necessarily a bad thing and voting high not a good thing even if it keeps you in the running to win for longer !

Oh yes of course, my bad ( SC not looking? ), other folk still in contention for the top 10.

Absolutely, while voting high keeps interest longer, folk should just go for what they think, low, middling or high.

No worries and I think youre ok! SC doesnt bother herself with these prediction contests or player of the month stuff, haha

I will probably put up a thread to keep track of the year long rankings once the AO is done and we have our first ones.

Indy is in with a chance of a third straight slam title here, thats worth keeping an eye on. Goldfish has a chance of a second straight AO title and that would be welcome if we reach 26 wins

If anyone has the time and inclination to create a list of folks who won this, and winning totals, prior to AO2023 , that would be a thing that is very much appreciated. I keep thinking Ill get around to checking but never do - largely as I am on my phone and dont find it easy to search and, when on my laptop, it is during work hours usually and I dont have time.

24 - Henry and Harri also are through

But Lloyd and Alexandra give a walkover in the mixed.

so the field of potential winners closes down to just 5 people ( unless the anonymous person who voted 24 breaks rank and announces themselves?).

got to hope there is still a win or two left in this.

With 7 maximum wins left, 31 wins is the max we could reach. And the US Open level of 27 last year is within touching distance now.

And our remaining contenders:

25 - Indiana, Seagull, The Addict
26 - goldfish

Good luck you four! Hope it will be goldfish that wins though!
