Boys & Girls: J500 Plantation, Fl. USA outdoor clay (week 50)

The final J500 of the season, includes the main under 18 event won by Hannah last season as well as under 16s and then the Junior Orange Bowl for u12 and u14 players later (I think those normally have a separate thread).

qualies is underway with Athina Schlepphorst playing and losing her opener.

The main under 18 draw starts tomorrow and comes out later and includes Hannah, Flora and Allegra for the girls and Charlie, Oli and Viktor in the boys.

The under 16 draw is out and includes Ophelia K-D as 8th seed.

Hannah has drawn the young, rather controversial Russian girl who has been effectively pinned inside the US, unable to travel, for the past three or four years.
If she were to leave the US, seemingly, she would lose her citizenship application.
So the poor girl has been doing extremely well, managing to be one of the top 2010 players without playing any events outside of the US
I've watched her play on livestream, there's some very good tennis there. But hopefully Hannah will be just too good

Anita Tu in 2009-born, so also young. And had a great run at the J500 recently, beating Kostovic

Kurt is probably the weakest, despite being the oldest

Oh, thanks for the insight! I was going by the Qs and WCs and thinking it all looked nice and comfortable!

In the under 16's, Ophelia won in two comfortable sets over a lucky loser.

Flora lost an early break and was 0-2 down

Oli lost the first set, 4-6, needs to pull that around.

Looks like match before Charlie could be over soon and he will be on court in the next half hour or so

Viktor has posted a comfortable win, but in the under 16s Ophelia lost her round 2 match on a final set tiebreak. Allegra has just taken the first set of her match 7-5 while Hannah leads hers 5*-4

Boys R1 (L64)

Viktor Frydrych d. (Q) Dmitry Bessonov (***) 6-2 6-3
