She is a good baseline player, well coached not surprisingly, given her parents were both tour players.
Lacked a bit of power and consistency whenever I saw her
Like paulis, I think she looks very well coached - very clean technique, and the thing that stands out (for me) is her 'bounciness' - she makes the effort on every ball to do the little jump before the ball comes, even the easiest of balls - lots of players are a little lazy and it shows very good discipline, well ingrained, to do it each and every time
But, not sure about power or consistency, my 'criticism' would be that it's a bit uninspired. She never/very rarely takes the ball very early, or goes down the line when everyone's expecting it crosscourt, or finds an angle that surprises you
And the match she lost by a whsiker against 14 year-old Barros at Roehampton was a real choke - not saying she does it often, I couldn't say, but that one was a match that she really had, every which way, and somehow found a way to lose it
But you can go a long way with very clean technique and good rigour on court

Good to see Brooke win, she seems to have had unfair criticism on here sometimes over alleged excessive WC's and being a "Nepo Baby".
Such an impressive week for Brooke. But re the WCs point I recall an interesting discussion or two. Why does criticism seem to have been unfair?
It certainly seemed to be implied that she was getting preferential treatment because of her surname.
Yes, and Indy's point was 'do we know that was actually unfair criticism'?
I think it was more a point of argument than a personal belief that it was fair - a question really
Nothing to do with Brooke, but the LTA and 'preferential treatment', not founded on talent and potential, are certainly things that might go together in a sentence.....
