I looked at Oaszek and she was up to 26 in the world at one point, be it over ten years ago, but she obviously could play. Not sure what happened after that. I was expecting this to be a much tougher ask for Mimi.

If you thought Mimi would do worse, I do hope you had a little flutter - the odds were 4x for Paszek
Paszek effectively retired from the circuit for four years - she had huge injury problems - and hasn't managed to get back to her previous levels.
Yes, really sad
And it reminds us that there are SO many other players who have huge injury problems, not just GB's lot
Do the ATP/WTA/ITF have some sort of insurance scheme that kicks in for players who have to retire or take time out of work for injury?
Similar to the way that many peoples workplaces enable insurance schemes like x time salary for death in service, or you can by insurance schemes to help you pay off your mortgage if you have to stop working for health reasons?
I know they are self employed, but as the players unions and employers, effectively, I hope they do provide some cover? I know guaranteed incomes have been mentioned for players and also pensions as well, not sure if the ATP implemented those yet?
