Thanks, David

Seems to be raining a bit/quite a lot too

Absolutely torrential - fortunately they have two clay courts here with a roof, and they are only playing on these courts rather than the 4 scheduled.  Megan broke first game in the second set, but threw in a raft of double faults to help Zajickova break back so 6-1 1*-2

Actually, seems to be pouring down blinkin' torrents - the sky is as black as anything and the water deluge is just biblical !

Meanwhile, they're on a court with a roof but open at the sides so there's a lot of rain in the air

Megan won the first set very easily - it's a little tighter in the second

The rain is beginning to penetrate the sides of the court - they have suspended the match on the neighbouring court and had a conversation about continuing on the main court. Megan 6-1 2*-3

Megan survives a couple of breakpoints, having broken previously, to lead 5-3

Megan was unable to convert a matchpoint on the Zajickova serve but won a long rally on her third matchpoint to become the first British girl to win here smile

Girls Final

Megan Knight d. (3) Katerina Zajickova (CZE) 6-1 6-4

Her team looked a little nervous at the end

Megan was rushing her serve a bit, and the other girl was going for a bit more, on the 'all-or-nothing' approach when you've practically lost

It wasn't easy - and lots of people watching, given the problems on the other court

Megan did well to close out that second set

Good win !

And Scott takes the first set - with a dead net first serve (the juniors here don't play lets)

The Spanish boy does NOT look impressed

Megan was in the crowd (I think with her father Nick) to see Scott complete a unique double for British tennis here, becoming the third British boy to claim the under 14 title. He had at least one matchpoint at 5-1 in the final set on the Spaniard's serve, but having been unable to convert and then losing his serve, he broke to 15 for the title smile

Boys Final

(1) Scott Watson d. Toni Escarda Pineiro (ESP) 6-3 4-6 6-3

Yes, I was getting a tad nervous there, at the end
Even though Scott, on the score, had it all in hand
Pretty sure there were two MPs at 5-1
And then, there we were at 5-3
Megan was nervously laughing at one point too
Super result
Super week for GB young junior tennis
