Week 39 - ATP 500 - Kinosh1ta Group Open Championships - Tokyo, Japan (hard)

No one is forcing doubles teams to enter qualies. They could choose to enter one of many Challengers the same week. But it is difficult for doubles players ranked outside the Top 40 or so to climb the rankings. The fact is that the ATP isn't particularly concerned about this or they would have changed the points system or entry requirements. And I guess anyone choosing to be a doubles specialist does so with eyes wide open.

Does anyone know who was sitting between Will Herbert and James Trotman in Jack's bench? A nutritionist or a sports psychologist perhaps?

It was great seeing Cilic win last week ranked 777! And great to see Nishikori playing so well to beat Cilic today. These guys can still do it - roll us back 10 years to US Open 2014!

I have mentioned before but did anyone notice another man in Jack's camp sitting behind James Trotman and Will Herbert? He was there for Jack's first doubles match as well. Maybe a psychologist?
