Boys & Girls: J200 Durban, South Africa, hard (week 37)

The South African series ratchets up to a J200 before next week's J300 in the same venue. Elizabeth Evans and Ophelia Korpanec Davies lost in qualifying, but there are still 6 Brits in the main draws (and even more from Russia/Belarus)

Boys R1 (L32)

Jay Johnson-Hauldren v (5) Nikolai Barsukov (GER)

Girls R1 (L32)

Brooke Black v (7) Polina Berezina (***)

(3) Flora Johnson v (WC) Grace Koenig (RSA)

Isabella Wong v Anna Kartseva (***)

Fleur De Bresser (NED) v Freya Peet

(8) Allegra Korpanec Davies v (***) Anna Perelman

Yes, I noticed the huge influx of Russians too
South Africa being easy with their visas ???

Berezina won the title last week so that's a hard draw for Brooke.

Any chance that Grace has anything to do with Robbie ? I assume not, and it's a reasonably common name

Disappointingly none of the British contingent survived round 2, and only Freya is left in the doubles

Girls R2

Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi (IND) d. (3) Flora Johnson 7-5 6-3
(4) Dune Vaissaud (FRA) d. Freya Peet 7-5 6-0
Jahnie Van Zyl (RSA) d. (8) Allegra Korpanec Davies 6-4 6-7(7) 6-3

That's definitely a bit disappointing

I rate Jahnie but she's only 2009-born, so pretty young, compared with Allegra

Maaya is also 2009-born, and has been out of action for a while, so you'd have expected Flora to do better there

And Dune is not any great shakes either, though she is older than Freya
