The National Championships for the lower age groups take place this coming week, with the under 14 boys starting tomorrow (along with under 11 round robin matches). The draw is up for the under 14 boys, including 2 of the team from the World Juniors (Eric Lorimer and Scott Watson) as top two seeds. No sign of Niall Pickerd-Barua, but Aran Selvaraasan and jan Janda, who both fared well in summer U14 events, are in the draw, in the same quarter as Eric
You can find all the draws as they become available here
Would be interested to watch back. Was this court streamed on LTA youtube as can't find it for some reason?
It was on court 5, which is the Lexus court on the oop. At the moment if you go to the live stream you can scroll back to the beginning for Tomas v Luca (followed by Eric and Scott, who both won comfortably)
Great match (Luca vs Tomas) as has been said. Looks like Luca has gone through to the knockout stage as well. Are these both good technical players and perhaps on the LTA radar as highly rated? Cameron Rae and Max Hodkinson are both seeded 1 and 2 for this category so perhaps a strong group of players coming through?
The under 14 Girls singles draw is up, featuring Daniella Britton, Megan Knight and Daisy Wootton as the top 3 seeds. No sign of Liv Zingg though.
U14 Boys QF
(1) Eric Lorimer v Aran Selvaraasan (4) Ruben Stanmore v Samuel Mhizha (8) Edwin James Vopson v Rundong Kevin Huang (7) Isaac Sallu v (2) Scott Watson
Liv withdrew late. Unsure why. Top half of the draw very strong - with Britton, Wong, Wootton and Parviz all in that part. Also Grace Watson who I rate, but she has another year yet and I think the older ones are a bit too strong for her atm. I am going to go out and predict that Annabel could prevail in that half. Dont fancy betting against Megan though in the other half
I've had a quick flick through - a lot of very one-sided matches, which is to be expected
But 'h-less' Tomas Gabor v Luca Hazell in the U11s is an excellent match - really nice quality
(And I note there is yet another little Korpanec Davies to add to the collection Of the male variety this time )
Yes - only boy and youngest of the 4. Very good little leftie. Very confident on court and has a lot of showmanship. Works hard too. Like what Ive seen of him.

Thanks for the xtra info Rose! Who do you think has the highest potential in that age category or is that too early to tell?

Just to double-check, you're talking about Nathaniel Korpanec Davies, here, yes?
I'll try and check out one of his matches. I never go too much by results at this stage.
Because the summary would work very well for Tomas too - very good little leftie, nicely confident on court, works hard (in the points, no idea about training) and a lot to like about him
