ANd it's all GB in the girls' final too

Young Annabel put out the top seed, with ease, 3 & 1.
And Eloise got past the second seed, in very similar manner, 2 & 3

FINAL: Annabel Wong (born 2010) v Eloise Newberry (born 2008)

Thats excellent! Heard Annabel Wong's name in latter stages quite a few times and is a 2010. How highly is she rated? What's her game style?

Rosie or someone is better placed to answer this

But I think Annabel is pretty highly rated by the LTA

I know she made the SFs of the U12 Nat Championships in 2022 (losing to Megan who won the event)

And she made the QFs of the U14 Nat Championships in 2023 (when she must have been year 1), losing to Rosie Cho

She's also been part of the Summer Cup team, and other LTA things

I also read she was laid up for 6 months with an injury quite recently

Annabel is a very good player. Hard hitting, tactically smart and very attacking,  but can also defend very well. Shes a great all round athlete and also plays hockey and netball at a regional level too. In my opinion, prior to injury, she wasnt far off Megans level and was better than Daniella (won most of their head to head encounters and looked the stronger player). Selected for most GB teams alongside Sevil and Meg. Suffered from a stress fracture in her foot early last year and its been quite a long road back for her. Saw her play again at Bradfield and would say shes not quite back to her best, but isnt a million miles off.
Trains at Bolton alongside Daisy Wootton

Nice to see two different names in the final.

Good to see we have more and more players coming through too.

When are the under 14 and QF national champs? Must be coming up very soon?

 14U event starts on 19th

The 11U event is now officially part of the junior national championships (as opposed to being an event just held at the same place) so the junior nationals that week are 11U, 12U and 14U

Theres also a grade 1 event at the same place for 9U and 10U but thats a grade 1 national tour as opposed to being actual Junior Nationals

16U and 18U Junior nationals have to be played earlier due to the Wimbledon wildcards but this is the big one for the younger ones

FINAL: Ferran Redza (GBR) def. (2) Athur Attrill (GBR) 7-6(2) 6-1

Super win by Ferran (age 17, born 2007).

His first title.

In fact, he's never got any further than the QFs in any of his events over the last year

Also, he's only ever played in the UK, according to his current scoresheet.

Plays at Edgbaston Priory, I think, and is applying to US college - this title might give him a boost with that application

With huge thanks to Rosie (as always) for excellent insight into our younger players:

FINAL: Annabel Wong (born 2010) def. Eloise Newberry (born 2008) 4-6 7-6(1) 6-3

This is Annabel's third counter - and will give her an enormous boost in the rankings - I think she'll be up to about 1420 or so

Do so hope her foot's fully better

Bravo, that girl
