British Men's Grass Court Masters - Fantasy vote! - Round 1, Match 7

So, following the grass court wins race that has just finished, we have the Masters event, between the top 16 players - seedings are based on wins achieved with ties in wins then being broken by significant of event the wins were achieved in.

It is a 16 player draw, 8 first round matches. The matches (match 1 to 8) are in draw order, in case you wish to try and work out the draw

Who do you think would win, if they played on grass, head to head, today.

Let's pretend the venue is Surbiton, where the grass season started and as it is missing from the grass season in 2025 - a sort of homage to Surbiton. Weather is dry, no rain delays and a nice and sunny 21 degrees C.

Vote will close in 24 hours, ie at 9m Thursday night. No scores will be posted during the matches, just an update to remind people which I will post in the morning, early PM, early evening and with an hour or so to go.

It is just some fun and you can vote for whoever you believe would win for whatever reason - no need to post a reason but feel free to say what you voted and why. Enjoy!

This one is the big upset for me - JPJ will get it over Dan - I see Dan's form just being too far gone, and we need at least one upset!

I went for Dan, but this was the match I really had to think about, because Dan has struggled so much recently. I think he has the experience and guile to mix it up and bamboozle Jack, even if he's not playing well (but Jack on form could out-hit him and force a lot of errors).

I think, as with the women's tournament (and actual tournaments with seedings!), a lot of these early matches are quite one sided. But looking forward to seeing how it shakes out and having to make some tougher choices later on!

I hoped with the way I have done the seedings (wins basically), it might throw up a few more interesting opening round battles, big players meeting etc, but it hasnt really happened.

let's not beat around the bush - this is the match which is closest and which could still go either way. All votes in by 9 pm, please

Just 2 hours left to vote in round one. This will be the last reminder (hurrah I hear you say!)

This was closest, 10 votes to 6, but Evo moves into the last 8
