Cracking win.

Helpfully the start of a flood of wins.

Well played Charlie, now up to Mika, Hannah and Ollie. Nice to see the BBC tennis, giving the juniors some airtime in their FD commentary.

Hannah may be on sooner than expected. There have been 4 one-sided matches on her court - however the fifth may well be longer, as the boys third seed has dropped the first set against a qualifier. Matches on Mika/Oli's court are much longer, so there are 1 and a bit matches before Mika takes to court.

In doubles most of the Brits have stuck with their Milan partners. However Charlie reverts to a Polish partner he won a J300 with last year.

Boys Doubles R1 (L32)

(WC) Balshaw/Marionneau (FRA) v Berkieta/Robertson (POL/GBR)
Jodar/Santamarta Roig (ESP) v Forbes/Gusic Wan (USA/GBR)
(6) Frydrych/Rottgering (GBR/NED) v Carboni/De Marchi (ITA)
Bonding/Marinkov (GBR/AUS) v Trouve/Vaksmann (FRA)

Girls Doubles R1 (L32)

(WC) Boullay/Mpetshi Perricard (FRA) v (7) Sonobe/Stojsavljevic (JPN/GBR)
(WC) Phanthala/Vaissaud (FRA) v (2) Klugman/Xu

The third seed Nicolai Budkov Kjaer wasn't able to turn it round, becoming the third and highest boys seed to fall so far (all girls seeds through so far), so after 5 one-sided matches Hannah has just walked on to court

Her ball toss is a real nightmare :(

I think she just got a time violation - which would be perfectly reasonable

In fact, I think it might have done her good - she threw it up quicker the next serve, less time thinking about it

Hannah recovered from 2-4 down to win the first set 6-4

It's the turn of the Argentinian girl to come from a break down and take the second set 6-4 (not a high quality encounter from what I've seen)

Mika 1-4
Oli 1-2

Hannah made light work of the third set whilst I was doing something else, and I find she has won 6-4 4-6 6-0

Mika 1-6 1-4
Oli 1-6 1-4

Oli saved a couple of matchpoints with aggressive play but the Brazilian qualifier, who was playing confidently backed by a noisy support group, prevailed 6-1 6-3. Mika lost 6-1 6-2

Hope Hannah's injury is nothing serious to prevent her progress

Presumably it's the same thing she had bandaged in the Insta post recently with Katie Swan

As you say, hope it's nothing major

Yes it was the same leg. Perhaps it would be wise to pull out of RG to let it heal properly
