Jake is out and , at least for now, Billy is the winner. Let's see if Jake gets a LL slot, but it all looks very unlikely he will top the race

Unfortunately, based on what I saw today, I don't think Jake has any chance of winning the whole tournament as a LL!

Mind you, if he did, I would be VERY happy to then not be a joint winner of this predictions competition!!!

You may need to keep shouting loudly as Bob will claim it for himself!

I mentioned in the womens prediction thread that I wasnt going to continue this next year; I enjoy doing it, but at the same time it means I need to keep on it for 6 or 7 weeks and I cant guarantee that I will have the time, as I still work and will be for a few years more.

So this is one I will be very happy if someone else wants to run it next year. As I would like to see it continue if it can.

Clearly 10 1/2 months to have someone step up and give it a go, but Im hoping someone will be willing!

And there are no lucky losers in Newport and so Billy is definitively crowned the Grass Court King for 2024.

There will be a Grass court Masters, like we had for the women, following later this week - once Billy is done with Newport.

Well done to Bob and myself!

I actually expected Billy to top the list by winning lots of challenger matches (like Andy did last year) and playing lots of qualis, not by getting WCs into big tournaments and going deep! But I very much enjoyed the journey he did take us on. smile

Yes.  Well done Tanaqui.  I voted for Billy because ..... well I always vote for Billy LOL.

As I said in an earlier post, even a stopped clock .... and all that.

I have to admit, I didn't expect to win.

but dont fear - the grass isnt over as the British Grass Masters mens event starts VERY  soon; the top 16 grass court players with the most wins (anyone in fact with 2 or more wins this season) is taking part and the matches will go up later this evening!

Julian lost his doubles today but if it is any consolation, he ends the grass season with the most wins in doubles by a British player.

Well done to him - full list later
