Welcome Tennis2024 and rokavenet, and thank you for the additional info.

Certainly confirms the feelings already expressed earlier that the methodology leads to many pretty misleading seedings in these nationals. So clearly any judgements need to be based on more than just seedings.

Top seeds in doubles are Luke Hooper with Alfie King and Ben Gusic-Wan with Zechariah Hamrouni as 2nd seeds. Oli Bonding and Viktor Frydrych pass on entering doubles.

Anybody know anything about Carl holder? Has no lta presence since u9s

I don't know anything about him, as such, but I saw him play live very recently,  at Redbridge British Tour, I think it was

It was a great match! Really, really close, excellent tennis, and a very good spirit (against Skinner, maybe? I can picture the guy and his tattoos but I might gave got the name wrong)

I really liked Carl's game - not sure it's quite of the level, not quite acquired enough, as the French would say, to tackle the big guys

But I watch out for him now

He was pushed close today by Oliver page, who is 2 (I think?) years younger

Hes a bit of an enigma who seems to have maybe been in USA for a few years? But was  high in itf rankings a few years ago

I think he was in France the last few years, no? He played with the French flag until a year or so ago, said he was from France when interviewed in Ghana a couple of years ago, and as of last month has a French classement of 2/6.

You are right, one of his profiles said US

he has just lost a close match to Louis Hull who i think is on fantastic form at the moment.

Agreed it goes both ways. Winning TEs boosts the national ranking hugely and pushes young players up the national ranking.16us and older dont really play that much domestic tournaments as itf becomes more important. Also juniors I general have their ups and downs, generally speaking. I should point out that many of them read this forum!

Lots of juniors, pro players and parents of players read this forum as well as coaches etc. Some even post.

Good job there arent too many derogatory or highly critical posts.

The boys ended up following the ratings far better than the girls

Joe Mazingham was the only qualifer to beat a MD DA

One qualifier beat a wildcard and there was another qualifier through to the L16 in an all-qualifier match, but that's not the same
