Quite the battle between Liam and Rhys.

From the bits Ive seen Mark shes seemed a class or two above everyone else here.

It was a real shame that the heavens opened at right at the start of the third-set tie-break

Those two lads had been battling their hearts out for about 3 hours - it was intense

From the bits I saw there really wasn't much difference (hence the score, I guess)

Slightly different styles of play

But huge effort and intensity from both

Just a shame that the rain didn't hold off for 10 more minutes - it was at peak time - but the weather is what the weather is

Well done to both of them

Liam had his right arm pretty heavily strapped right from the start of the match so hope he's OK....

Glad Rhys at least got the doubles title - and he's got another year too (and hope Mark doesn't bother with U16 next year )

I don't, but they didn't start till 11 am yesterday either, even though it wasn't raining

So I'm assuming the ground is still a bit damp in the morning and they wait till it dries off properly

Good start from Ceban here, cant see a way he doesnt win this. Not to sure about his forehand grip especially if hes made to defend with it.

Yep, it started about 11 am again today

And Mark is very quickly into a 3-0 lead

What with Liam's marathon yesterday, and his taped arm, and - of course - Mark's having a far better ranking, you wouldn't expect this match to go on for very long (although Mark does sometimes have little AWOL moments)

Yes, although I did wonder if that was just because of the level of the match - i.e. half the time through these championships he's looked as those he's in second gear (which is not surprising really, he is)

And so, I guess, understandable if he's thinking about what he's going to have for dinner or whatever smile

However, yes, I've seen it in more important matches too

Ceban wins the first set 6-2 could have easily been 6-0 but also could have easily been a lot closer
