Boys & Girls: J100 Loughborough, GB - hard (Week 11)

The second of the J100s kicks off today

Boys

There's a good turnout in qualis. Last week we had a lot of BYEs (with Daisycat, I believe, pointing out that this was probably linked to team Cup events also taking place that weekend)

But this week they're all out in force.

The top 4 Q seeds are: Lammas (IRE), Rhys Watters, Conor Brady and Charlie Swaine

There are wildcards for: 14 year-olds Oluwajomiloju (Mo) Aminu and Samuel Zlotnik, and 15 year-old Murray Watters

Harry Cornhill, another promising 2009-er, is also in the draw

Girls

Again, lovely to see a full draw

The top Q seeds are: Tia J-Klajko; Tamara Kuti; Georgiana Mititelu and Alice W-Marsh

Wildcard to Sophya Devas

Young Daisy Wooton is in the draw but has come up against the top seed.

Boys

QR1 matches

3rd seed Conor Brady lost, as did 4th seed Charlie Swaine, 5th seed Kouros Anssarizadeh and 7th seed Rafi Kiss

Shows the jump up to J100 level as several of those were reported to be playing well at the recent J30

Nice wins for two of the 2009 wildcards though, Sam Zlotnik and Murray Watters

Girls' results not all in yet

About half the results are in

Girls

QR1

Tia unfortunately had to retire 0-4 down in the first set, which doesn't sound good

But it gave 2010-born Daisy Wootton a nice win and chance to go again tomorrow

Eva Hutchins beat the 7th seed from Australia

No other seeds beaten yet although Dina, Eva Senior and Sophie J have all beaten foreign opponents, which is always pleasant

In the other part of the girls results:

Serena Manca (5th seed) lost to a Lithuanian - who is the only 'pesky' left in qualis

14 year-old Daniela Harvey also got a win

It is Megan Knight. If you click on the order of play it shows her surname.

Love the upbeat approach, Rose

Yes, great result for Isabella Walker - she's been having a good year this far - her J60 title in Luxembourg, and the SF slot in J100 Glasgow

Alice Wilson-Marsh only lost 6-4 in the third - which is a shame

But Maria Ustic won 6-4 in the third so I guess you win some, you lose some

It's not gettting much better as 2009-born Popa beats Mia Wainwright

And Brooke Black loses in the three sets

Elizabeth Evans won the all-GB match

And only one result still to come.....
