Pity.

Cam will drop out of the top 30 for the first time since August 2021. Live ranked 31.

Proper match - don't normally enjoy men's tennis, but that had a bit of everything...

Russell Fuller saying on radio commentary that Cam had been so sick that he hadn't practised for 9 days (I think) before Indian Wells.

Cam really could have won that - twice he was only 2 points away from victory.

It really was a hot and stifling day and there was no shade at all. The match ended up being a real grind. It took them best part of 30 mins to get through the first 3 games and that set the tone really.

It was a packed court with little room to move and it felt most people were supporting Monfils. There was a fair few of us supporting Cam though. I left at the end of set 2 as i needed some respite from the sun as well as the hard metal benches! There is a lot of unreserved seating on court 3 but it is not the most comfortable.

Ultimately a disappointing result but if he has been/is unwell then frankly he did well to get through the 3 odd hours.

Meant to add - Good to see Djokovic go out. Nardi played very well but Novak didnt ever appear to be quite at the races.

He had earlier withdrawn from the doubles due to "illness".

Apparently Djokovic was his usual prat and after being beaten started moaning to his opponent about a call made against him. Why can't he just congratulate the players that beat him, he always has to make a passive aggressive remark just to take a bit out of their victory
