Meant to add - Good to see Djokovic go out. Nardi played very well but Novak didnt ever appear to be quite at the races.

Apparently Djokovic was his usual prat and after being beaten started moaning to his opponent about a call made against him. Why can't he just congratulate the players that beat him, he always has to make a passive aggressive remark just to take a bit out of their victory

This was the incident that got him upset. Nardi clearly thought the serve wa going out. He hesitated and played the dink return then they played two more shots and at that point Djoko got upset. umpire did well and Djoko was just wrong.

Why do you expect any different?

Cant stand Novak. So many things hes done over the years make him 8 highly unlikeable character and why he will never be the GOAT for me.

I have a feeling we will discover something about him after his retirement.

I cant wait for the day hes gone from tennis for good.

I'm 100% convinced that he is another Lance Armstrong so I'm no fan but my Son is and even he said that it was completely out of order. He does it all the time, he did it to Sinner when Sinner completely outplayed him, he just cannot be genuinely generous when he loses, there is always a remark that attempts to take away from the victory

Yes, just wrong. I really can't see it should be a debate.

And to afterwards still moan about that single point, gee.

Yes, every so often though he will make an actually on the face of it very nice quite witty generous loser speech, more after a real biggie like a Slam final when all eyes are on him. And some folk will say "Ah, he really isn't that bad". He is!!

And to the opposing player, not the umpire.

Im with you all, cant stand him. But he really does have a lot of fans, who defend him to the hilt and quite aggressively put down Nadal, Federer and , less so, Andy. almost a cult like following.

Missed all this! I left at the end of the first set as I was completely bushed - it had been a long day.

So this happened early on in the second set right? A set which he went onto win.
He lost the third set therefore so how on earth can he blame this incident (where he was completely in the wrong) on his loss which happened a hour or so later?

Totally agree with the comments above! He really feels he is so entitled and not giving proper credit to young players who beat him is a disgrace. Just glad I dont have to watch him again in my last couple of days here.

Hi Brittak - do you have centre court (ie main court) tickets each day or roving?

and did you go on your own or with family/friends? It feels like a long stint if youre on your own!

A bit of a mix but you cant come all this way and not stay for a while. Mrs Brittak was here at the start but she can only tolerate so much tennis and actually  I like being able to dip in and out of matches as I choose.
I am going to write up my trip and post in the next couple of days and post in the attending tournaments section so that people who want to read it can And those who dont can avoid it!

I discovered the beauty of going to the Tennis on my own when I got a last minute ticket to watch Roger Federer at Wimbledon in 2019.  Watched his match and then spent a glorious day watching all the Brits and whoever else I felt like watching. Can highly recommend.

Forgetting Mr Djokovic's part in all of this, and watching that point: what astonishes me is how much time Mr Nardi had to hit his nonchalant return. That serve is still travelling probably faster than any serve I have faced in my life; yet he has time to think it is out, catch that it may not be, and casually swat it back. Where on earth does all that time come from?

Do you know that struck me also. I remember timing serves at Wimbledon before speed guns, when I was a lad, and remembering from server to returner, a serve could be end to end in half a second. How did he do all you describe in probably less than that!?

Not to pile on but gosh he really is insufferable, and he seems so genuinely perplexed as to why so many people are turned off by him.
