Boys & Girls: J200 Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, hard (Week 7)

The Dominican Republic J200 Copa Marengue has been good to Brits, with weak fields to exploit - JackPinnington Jones, Ella McDonald and Luca Pow being winners in the last 3 years. There are 6 Brits in the singles draws here, including a wildcard for Ciara Moore for some reason, but round 1 has not gone well.

Girls R1 (L48)

Neila Rahimkhani (CAN) d. (WC) Ciara Moore 6-1 6-2

(4) Gabia Paskauskas bye

(13) Allegra Korpanec Davies bye

It looks like Hannah Rylatt saved the day - with a tight win in her match, in three sets

Annika has been out of action for the last two months though

Kristina has been playing, and doing very well, but supposedly Annika has been injured for months and this is her first event back

She was in the acceptance list, then withdrew, and got a wildcard at the last minute. I wonder if she's really touch and go about playing.....
