Eden versus Mimi looks an interesting one for qualies, interested to see how Mimis game matches up to someone of Edens level

Yes. And, although the betting odds are all rather GB-biased, IMO, it's the one match where the odds are well weird - I mean, having Mimi as the favourite is fine but the odds are:

3.25 v 1.33, in Mimi's favour

As with all betting, it's not a question of who will win, but I don't think anyone is being paid properly on the Mimi side

Presumably with odds if a lot of bets or money is put on Mimi then the odds change in her favour. Perhaps there is  a feeling out there from junior results that the lta academy players such as her will break through. I agree with Jon, an interesting match, because as time goes on the question is can the likes of Mimi and others moving to adults break through that 500 to 250 ranking level where quite a lot of our older players have been over the past 5 years or more without going higher in their cases. Or will the younger ones hit a similar ceiling as its no doubt harder in adults with so many players to compete with.

Yes, absolutely, the odds reflect the money flows
That was my point - the money flow towards Mimi over Eden seems, to me, unbalanced
Not to say that Mimi won't win but that the odds at the moment make it look like a pretty sure thing

Meanwhile, Brooke has lost 6-0 6-4

Mimi was supposed to play last week but withdrew so there might be a problem that they are not sharing eg injury

Which would make it even weirder

Anyway, Mimi'll probably go on and win 6-2 6-2 now biggrin

But Eden is a very up and down player - she can play some lights out tennis at times

Alice has taken the first set 6-4

Do hope she manages to close it out - I don't think much of Gimbrere

Well, I didn't quite wish that on Gimbrere smile

Hope she's OK but pleased for Alice

Two UEs at the end of a well-fought TB (one really bad one at 5-5 and one which at least was going for a good aggressive shot) cost Bronte, and she loses 6-1 7-6(5)
