Boys & Girls: J30 Liverpool 2, GB - hard, indoor (Week 7)

Quite a few new faces to see. Alex Ward was down and Patrick Brady watched his brother win.

Danielle Britton - won easily against an out of form Alice Haddad. Very consistent and a good mover
Heide Crncan has a huge serve
Daisy Wootton came up against Nehir Tuna iwho is a decent player at this level. Daisy was error strewn and outpowered in the first set, but cut out the errors and won nicely
Gabby Read has improved a lot
Bella Loftus was slightly more solid than Ava McMillan, who looks talented. Ava finds unusual angles and has a very short backswing, but her serve is inconsistent

Alfie King is too good for this level, but he is playing as it is very local for him.
Rhys Lawlor won easily.
First time I've seen Alex Winder - had enough chances to win that match. His serve is a huge weapon, but his groundshots are inconsistent.
Brandon Ratonavong could be the real deal, he pushed Charlie Swaine(who has won a J30 here) He is a giant and is very powerful for 14...

I always rate Louis Hull, when I see him play. Kouros is talented, but lacks power.

Not a good day for the Watters family. Rhys got into a very heated argument with his opponent

Interesting, as always, paulisi

the boys have done a great job today

Harry Abel beat the Italian 2nd seed easily

Charlie Swaine beat the Norwegian wildcard

Harry lumb beat Pavel from India

Just one more 'pesky' result pending to see whether we did a clean sweep

the girls have also clinched it - there was only one foreign player left in the last 16 and Sarah Copley took care of her

So QFs are:

Sarah Copley v Alice Wilson-Marsh

Tamara Kuti v Mia Wainwright

Heidi Crncan v Dani Britton

Arabella Loftus v Charlotte Holmes

 The Polish lad won.

The standard was quite high for a J30

Sarah Copley and Mia Wainwright are the standout players, with Tamara Kuti not too far behind

Daisy gave Mia a bit of a fright and Danuelle came back from a set down to defeat Sofia. Charlotte won a tight match against Gabby.

I'm expecting Sarah, Mia, Heidi and Bella to progress

Very impressed with Conor Brady, who was added to some weight of shot and added to the variety in his game.

Kouros was outhit by Davis(Charlie Swain's look a like)

Harry Abel and Harry Lumb were very good, but Alfie King and Charlie Swaine are the two standout players.

Alfie came through for you, paulisi

But Charlie was beaten quite easily by Louis Hull

Conor scraped through 7-5 in the third set

Dylan Davies put out the Polish lad

So semis are:

(1) Alfie King v (7) Louis Hull

Dylan Davies v (6) Conor Brady

 Better with the girls, paulisi

Three out of four; only Bella spoiled your scorecard

The SFs are:

Sarah Copley v Mia Wainwright

Heidi Crncan v Charlotte Holmes

I blame Bella for that, she told me she was confident of winning that match...

Louis Hull slipped under the radar and came through nicely to take the singles title this week

Louis Hull def. Conor Brady 6-3 7-6(5)

In the girls, Mia made very light work of it:

Not quite sure how he slipped under the radar. He is seeded

"I always rate Louis Hull, when I see him play. " - my comment from earlier in the week

There was no comment about Louis Hull here is all I meant - he wasn't one of the standout players

But, sure, yes, he was seeded, he wasn't a nobody
