Sorry, Jon - I'm confused? (maybe too early .... )
Also, our girls have shown great skill in getting super doubles partners - a very underrated attribute !
Mimi and Hannah are together, as expected
Mika is playing with Emerson Jones, who won the J300 singles last week and is crowd favourite
And Isa Lacy has got Jamrichova - the TOP seed in singles, and JWR 3 !
(Hep is the only one in 'normal' land, playing with a fellow qualifier)
Not sure what i said wrong, CD. Just saying all 5 girls are in doubles and put Hep in bold as she wasnt in singles, at least o didnt think she was (maybe wrong). But there was no other point. And well done all, for sure!
it was the Merv, it's 2024 comment that was rather lost on me, Jon
Ah! On Mervs post, above, hes got a signature footer that says Go Team GB in 2023!

Thanks for explaining Jonh. I didn't understand the comment re 2024 either

Sorry! I quoted Mervs post and assumed his footer would also appear in the quoted post, but it didnt come across - so the context was completely missing! Haha
The most dramatic of the 4 wins was Charlie's. His opponent served for the match at 5-4 in the second, reached matchpoint (lost after a long rally) before losing 8 games in a row. The former Les Petits As winner Julia Stusek was rather disappointing in an error strewn match with Mika, with lots of breaks of serve. A notable win for Hannah's 2009 rival Ksenia Efremova over the fifth seed Tereza Valentova

Light rain this morning and pretty overcast. Hannah is up 6-2 4-2 and has way too much power for her opponent. should be more aggressive against the serve, her opponent is rolling it in.
Good news on the girls side. Hannah, Hep and Isa all go through in straight sets. Disappointing for Oli Bonding though who goes out, also in straight sets.
