Also some of the top juniors are not playing next week.
Andreeva will lose 1200+ points as not defending her title plus doubles, so the no.1 ranking is up for grabs.

Andreeva was runner-up (to Korneeva) last year, but pretty much loses all her points from Traralgon and Australian Open in 2023.

Korneeva is number one junior, not Andreeva (and it's Korneeva who took the title last year)

And, absolutley, she's not playing juniors - she's racing through matches at the adult Aussie Open ! Won three matches in qualis - into the main draw......

Just announced she's applying for a student visa to Spain to try and be based there

I know, there's so blinkin' many of the top Russian and Czech youngsters, it's easily done smile

Hannah lost her SF to Jovic easily, 2 & 2

She beat her in the Orange Bowl in three sets recently

So it's a little strange perhaps

But, tbh, Hannah has played a lot of hard matches, what with all the doubles too, and Iva is a truly super player

Frankly, I'm pleased she can rest a bit

Although she and Mimi won their doubles SF 14-12 in the MTB !

So she's still in there, playing, in the doubles final, so not that much of a rest

And Mika also won her doubles semi, so theres a guaranteed British winner here!

Will Hannah and Mimi be playing the AO juniors together?

Those who follow juniors, do either of them or any other player stand a chance of glory in the AO singles or doubles?

I would expect Hannah and Mimi to continue to play together (no entry list available for doubles) and they should have a good chance in the doubles, if their singles involvement doesn't impact them, given their excellent record.   There are a lot of contenders in the girls singles, including Hannah and Mimi, and the person who wins Traralgon doesn't usually win the Australian Open.  British success in the boys events would be welcome but unexpected.

Congratulations to Mika (and Wakana Sonobe) who defeated Mimi & Hannah in the doubles final, in two sets

Young Aussie-starlet, Emerson Jones, went on to take the singles title

The boys event was won by fourth seed Rui Sakamoto, who scalped a player just outside the ATP top 100 in his last Challenger tournament

Girls Doubles F

(7) Sonobe/Stojsavljevic (JPN/GBR) d. (1) Klugman/Xu 7-6(4) 6-3
