Updated Cam's narrative (and fixed a mistake I'd made in Kyle's).
Nominations List
1 - Alastair Gray - for breaking back into the Top 500 having come through qualies and reaching the 2nd round of the Challenger in Portugal.

5 - Katie Boulter - for beating Jessica Pegula World No 5 in the United Cup

8 - Joe Salisbury - for winning the Adelaide ATP250 and showing he and Rajeev have carried over their excellent form from the end of last year.

So, from a British perspective in Melbourne, we seem to have the following left:
Neal in mixed doubles
Mimi in junior girls

Alfie and Gordon in wheelchair mens singles
Alfie/Gordon wheelchair mens doubles
Andy in wheelchair quad doubles.
The para tennis events at the AO are also starting before the weekend.

Just assuming that Mimi and the remaining doubles juniors make progress, will the cut off date for this cover the finals at the AO? You never know! Thats why I have been holding back on nominating.

Hi Var - nope, it is all good; I never make the cut off a strict month end (eg Jan 31st) as that is often midweek so I run it to the end of the week before the end of the month or just after. In this case, it ends with the end of the AO (which is Sunday 28th Jan). I think the junior finals will all be done with on the morning of Sunday British time, and I will allow nominations through until the end of Sunday, so the juniors, wheelchair players, Neal in mixed will all be safe if someone chooses to nominate them.
So go ahead as and when you think the time is right!!

I have added Andy - as mentioned, I said I would pick up wheelchair players - I will let others decide on juniors and pros as mentioned - and was tempted to nominate Alfie and Gordon. However, Alfie is still in the singles final to come, so think I will wait and see how it all plays out

Hi Var, just to remind you that you have until end of Sunday to nominate players, so if Viktor and Mimi or any other player catches your eye as a nominee, just go ahead before then!
3 womens doubles finals, 2 mens doubles finals and a semi, and 1 mens singles semi coming up today across the tennis world. Nominations for January player of the month close tomorrow night, Sunday.

18 - Anna Brogan - for three valiant efforts, in defeat, in her first (W35) tournaments of the year.
Ok, thanks Johnny. I think Anna being nominated for the past two months has been a little left field but its not for me to judge the nominations unless theyre obviously spurious, so lets go with the flow
If we get to more than 20 by tomorrow night, Ill consult ChatGPT and create some groups for semifinals. At the moment, we are ok for one big melee.
