Jon, are you planning on nominating Alfie and Gordon for their AO Doubles title? (I know they'll be in PoS as a result of winning a grand slam, but wondered if you wanted to recognise them in PoM as well.)

I'm going to do an update for Luke, since he'll now defiinitely be top 100 when the new rankings come out, but will wait for the result of his final tomorrow.

Hey Tanaqui - Id thought about it and wanted to see how Alfie did in singles - but , yeah. Someone should nominate them - Im out and about so cant really do it but happy if youd like to!? Or anyone else?

Nominations List

1 - Alastair Gray - for breaking back into the Top 500 having come through qualies and reaching the 2nd round of the Challenger in Portugal.

2 - Oliver Crawford - for deciding to come and represent the wonder that is Great British tennis and then reaching the FQR of AO qualies.

3 - Heather Watson - for reaching the doubles final at the Brisbane WTA500 event and going back to British #1 in style.

Looks like we could be going over the 20 limit this year. There are no juniors or Para players nomiated from the AO yet, and I expect a couple of others as well.

I think we will- I wondered about juniors as well but no one has bitten on that; para players for sure worth keeping an eye on and several doubles folks around. Ive got ChapGPT primed to sort the groups! ive put a nice little algorithm in that works a treat, or did on a trial run.

yes, Anna seems to have Johnny in her corner, but Im not sure her results have stood up to the test!

Outside of Australian action overnight in the para tennis events, I think Luke is the only player left in action?

As we need two rounds of voting with 21 plus nominations, I will post the opening round tomorrow evening, time fluid depending on my day!

22 - Anna McBride - for defending her AO PWII Championships singles and doubles titles. She won the singles without dropping a set and only losing 5 games out of the 65 games she played. In the doubles, she and partner Sophia Schmidt (a scratch pairing based on rankings) dominated in the round robin format, only losing one set. All of this despite a wrist injury that flared up towards the end of the tournament and a very intense schedule for the event.
