For our girls, it's not just the 2006-ers who will be dropping out

Laura Samson has just announced that the Junior Finals was her last juniors event

Renata Jamrichova announced the same thing a few months back

I think Iva Jovic has basically quit juniors (although might well play the Slams, so that's not quite the same - the East European girls have more financial pressure to move up early whereas Iva will have more flexibility)

But that's definitely quite a few of the real top players who are dropping out, as well as the 2006 girls

In terms of top spot in the boys, between Charlie and Oli, I make it the situation is:

Charlie - has 1983.75 pts. From that he will lose 28 points (112/4) from a doubles counter but replace that with 11.25 (45/4) - leaving him with a nett 1967 points as his minimum year end total

Oli - has 1632 pts. From that he will lose 150 singles points counter and 39.75 doubles (157/4). But he will replace those with 60 singles non counter and 18.75 (75/4) doubles. His nett year end total will be 1521 points.

So Charlie is roughly 446 points ahead of Charlie at year end if they don't play again.

Not sure what their plans are, there are two J500 events in Mexico and USA, and a couple of similar J300. I guess Oli could go on a run and pull back the 446 points? But assumes he plays those events and Charlie chooses not to - might Charlie want to try and take an Orange Bowl or the Mexican J500 to end his junior career?

My maths above may be totally wrong, I am second to CD on these things, I am afraid!
