The key to understanding this is the fact that many of the points won at the Australian Open in the boys event are by those in their final junior year. Hence many of the points from last year will have gone at the end of the year, and there is a big overall gain of points after the Australian Open, meaning that players in the top 50 who gain no points can expect a drop in ranking. Viktor's gain in doubles amounts to around 100 points, once divided by 4. That would be enough to stay level or even gain a place or 2 for some in the top 50, but Viktor is clearly in an area of the rankings where there were quite a few big net gainers.

A much lower percentage of points in the girls event are won by players in their last year, so you don't get the same effect.
