2024 Men's Prediction Competition

Just seeing Arthur Fery lose and looking at my predictions - what an absolute disaster I had!

Like you I have Arthur as GB #6 though a slightly more conservative WR of err WR 166.

He is GB #9 and WR 258. Hey, there's a couple of points in that for us.

Any plans for prediction tables updates, with the US Open having been and gone and a couple of months or so of the season left?

Edit: ah, yes I see TA was planning a post US Open update.

Haha- at least youve got a few others giving you points; my list is a treasure trove of those who underperformed against my sadly raised expectations!

Yes, update coming soon - been a bit busy this week since the rankings came out.

Well what can I say ? Quite a few changes since the last update post-Wimbledon.
Andy has retired not everyone subbed him out). Dan went to the Olympics and didnt defend his Washington title so has plummeted down the rankings. Jay and Liam have slipped away as well. On the plus side Jack has hit the top 20, Billy is on the cusp of the top 100 and Jake rocketed almost 500 places in the rankings (only picked by Ralphie).

So the points table looks pretty different this time round. So much so that I went back to previous tables to see what the differences were !

Edit:- Typo in table corrected - sorry Ralphie !

Thanks TA. I see that I am also plummeting down the rankings - towards more familiar territory.  biggrinbiggrin

With a drop of 33 points, I cant resist saying "what's it all about, Ralfie"

But then, I notice I am still way below him, so will shut up!

I think that 33 is a slightly rogue statistic

Yes, sorry, typo - should be -3. Still getting used to the keyboard on my new laptop. I'll amend the table and substitute it.

With the end of the far-east season for the ATP tour it seemed appropriate to run an update. Most people have dropped a lot of points, probably due to players like Liam not playing and dropping down the rankings. I was sufficiently surprised at the results to run a few checks, but haven't found anything amiss yet. A glance at the ATP rankings shows a lot of movement lower down the rankings as well.

The predictions have been a complete disaster for me this year.  Liam, Ryan, Arthur and George are all way below the levels I had hoped and expected and score nul points!   Then factor in Andy's retirement, Dan's drop and the unexpected rises of Jake and Billy and it leaves me completely in the cold.  Anyone who correctly predicted any of this will be well worthy of their title!!!
