RE: 2024 Men's Prediction Competition

With the end of the far-east season for the ATP tour it seemed appropriate to run an update. Most people have dropped a lot of points, probably due to players like Liam not playing and dropping down the rankings. I was sufficiently surprised at the results to run a few checks, but haven't found anything amiss yet. A glance at the ATP rankings shows a lot of movement lower down the rankings as well.

The points are significantly lower in the mens table than the womens - does that mean the mens has been a lot less predicable for a change!?

No one predicted Jake's meteoric rise and we all had Andy still up there and Liam much higher than he now is

I'd dropped Andy and not included him - and am STILL right near the bottom no

Pretty clearly when you just look at the current top 10. How much that has all changed since the end of last year is shown up in As You Were's travails. It would really have taken some pretty big out of the box thinking to get the sort of good men's scores that we have seen in the past.

Might come down to whether some of the challengers here can luck out on / brilliantly predict one or two close WRs.

the mens is really v close between top and pretty much the top 75% of "predictors" here, could well be one or two late runs that swing this thing.

As briefly discussed in the other thread, I think I'll aim to close the competitions when the rankings come out on 11th November. The ATP and WTA main tours are finished then although there are Challenger, WTA125 and ITF competitions right up to the end of the year. Depends who is still playing and whether there is a chance of movement in the tables.

If I were you, I would close it now wink

But I'm not you and you probably don't think that way LOL.

Just because you lot are no good at predictions........

It is tempting - but I still have to make up 11 points in the women''s comp.
