The substitutions did make a big difference. Var (11) CD (10) and Jaggy (7) had the biggest gains, and I won't embarrass the six people that were worse off by more than 10 points than if they had stuck to their original selections. You know who you are

I know why that was TA. I took a punt on Hannah getting up to around the 80s following the same trajectory as Coco. Unfortunately she fell well short and my sub was a bit better! Our juniors are really hampered by the demands of A levels and missed a lot of the grass season etc. however not knocking it. I am looking at Ella, to breakthrough next year. She was a really good junior and lovely to see her moving forward!
I am very surprised at such big gains and losses from subs, given folks' other 9 players should be unchanged. And the maximum a sub could score would be 10 and original player could have scored also 10 ( although if they were looking like getting any sort of decent score would you sub them? )
I'm with you here Indi. The maximum you could gain would surely be 10 (how is 11 possible?)? One would no doubt swap out a zero counter but it would be a huge stroke of luck if your sub happened to slot in at the exact spot to score 5 for the GB ranking as well as getting 5 for predicting an accurate WTA ranking. I gained 4 from my sub and I thought that was pretty good going.
Yes, it does look a bit strange and I take your point. There is a slight error in my no-subs table which knocks a couple of points off some people, so the maximum gain or loss is actually 9 points.

I particularly still don't understand big losses.
A loss will be ( the points a player subbed out would have got ) - ( points won by the player subbed in )
OK, so further expanation. When I quickly did the additional spreadsheet to see what the differences would be I didn't update all the GB ranking positions so some of them were wrong. I should have spent an hour on doing it instead of 5 minutes.
