I think consistency is a major issue at this level too. Which can be age-related but generally isn't.
If you look back at who really impressed you in the first report, some are quite different from what ended up happening. Which is not that they weren't really impressive, but that players of this age, and this level (none of these lads did well in the National championships, or are that well ranked, obviously) often have real problems in maintaining levels.
Tegan and Edie (both very young, 2008 and 2009) have had excellent weeks - playing well, getting good wins, and then posting very good scores, even when they lost against good players. For tennis detection people, that will count for a lot.
Max obviously started very well but then had a nightmare half match yesterday, just getting through, before losing today.
Assuming Luke wasn't injured, he should never have lost by 0-6 in the third set. (Of course, he may well have been slightly injured by this time - playing every day can take a toll - in which case it's different but assuming he wasn't...).
Both would be defnite negatives on any detection report.
Jay is born 21st Nov. 2006 so he's not far off 2007 himself. Which is a plus point, in terms of his result too.
he has won two J30 doubles titles this season, Liverpool (feb) and Wrexham (May), and a J4 in Stirling last season in doubles. He also won a singles title at J5 level in Liverpool last year. I guess a J4 is equal to his J60 this weekend?
So this is his 5th title in total, almost his first!! But certainly his biggest title and his first singles title at J60 level!

Sorry to Ilias - I wasn't counting doubles titles and didn't realise about the J5 previously, so his second title - thanks Jon - and good job to that young man
