On the boys side, Luke Hooper was a comfortable winner against an out of sorts Alfie King
Lotus Hull, came back from a set down to beat Sai Gandepelli
Sam Chadwick came through in three against Harry Lumb, who was complaining about movement, so I assume he was carrying an injury
Jay Johnson-Hauldren who very easily against Conor Brady, who lacks the power to compete at this level.
Rhys lost a topsy-turvy match against the last remaining overseas player on the boys side. I'm pretty sure that Rhys is playing through a minor injury.
Max Carrier, who is still the class of the field, won nicely
Ilias Worthington also won comfortably after a sluggish start
Seb Harrison followed up yesterday's win with another solid performance. He is another than needed treatment yesterday on ankle and calf, but got through the match.
The one I'm particularly intrigued about is Max Carrier.
You say that he looks classy. And I'm glad. Because he is the lad who has always been in the really elite group at the LTA but, to be honest, has practically nothing on his results sheet.
i.e. this is from the LTA site:
"The Mens & Womens Programme is for the very best 16 to 21 year old players in the country who are not currently on the Pro Scholarship Programme (the programme is also available to 14 and 15 year olds in exceptional circumstances)
Which players are on the programme?
Amarni Banks
Alastair Gray
Jasmine Conway
Hannah Klugman
Isabelle Lacy
Eva Shaw
Ranah Stoiber (once finished at Loughborough Academy)
Max Carrier (NAGP U16)
Ben Gusic-Wan (NAGP U16)
Oli Bonding (NAGP U16)"
So this is putting Max in the 'very best 16-21 year olds' - with a heap of other players who are hugely more high profile than him.
I've always wondered quite how he's managed to swing it, to be honest. But I've never seen him play. And there are certainly some youngsters who have a lot of potential going forward but don't have the results at the moment to back it up - and he may well be one of those (or, of course, it's also possible that he's got friends in high places). Either way, it's good to hear that he's impressive on the court.
The LTA can be confusing as it mixes the MWP and the National Age Group Programme U16 together. Max has a NAGP U16 Scholarship rather than a MWP Scholarship. The NAGP U16 is for 14 to 16 year olds (and exceptional 12 to 13 year olds) who meet the National Academy selection criteria are not at the National Academy, not on the MWP or Pro Scholarship Programme, and are on a trajectory to be eligible for the Pro Scholarship Programme at National Academy graduation age. So he should really be grouped with those at the NA.

I take your point. The LTA lists (and even their criteria and exceptions and whatever) are definitely confusing.
But they mention in that list that Max in NAGP U16. As they do for Oli and Ben.
But my point is that Oli and Ben and Max are all the same age. But Oli and Ben are top-100. And Max is just inside the top-500.
As said, maybe he has great potential but I don't think he's been injured - he's been playing events left, right and centre for the last year - and his results are really pretty average, and yet he's one of the elite selected ones.

I have no idea but could winning the under 16 nationals doubles with Mark Ceban make any difference to his funding level?
Max just seemed to have his dad with him(I assume it was his dad...) no other coaches watching even though Loughborough were there as well as Gosling, Team Bath and quite a few academies
Seven out of eight semi-finalists are Brits - now, THAT is what I call a good domestic event
Well done to young Edie, in particular - only a wildcard, born 2009, with only three events ever played, it's a great achievement to make the semi-finals (and counting)
Final report of the week as I need to go and earn some money...
Firstly their was a problem with the ITF site which wasn't resolve until mid morning, so yesterday's score and today's oop were not visible.
Luke Hooper(Bath) the left handed top seed, was far too solid for Louis Hull. Sam Chadwick(Bolton Academy) had a mammoth tussle with Jay Johnson Hauldren(Elite performance academy), the two left handers had a long battle mainly from the baseline, although Jay did occasionally venture forward. Went to 3 and Jay was just too strong in the third
Max Carrier (Reed) had a horrible start , making errors and trying to out hit his opponent. He went 5-2 down and then sensibly changed his playing style to take pace off the ball and keep the ball in play. It worked a treat as he won 5 games on the bounce including one mammoth game with multiple deuces. The second set was more straight forward, with a more confident Max able to mix up his game a bit more.
Ilias Worthington(Bolton Academy) won quite comfortably against Sam Harrison.
Semi Final line up:
Illias Worthington v Max Carrier
Luke Hooper v Jay Johnson Hauldren
In the girls matches
Allegra Hodson was unable to get the big serve and accurate ground shots of yesterday going and the very consistent Erin Pearce(Gosling) was a comfortable winner.
Edie Griffiths (Gosling) beat her team mate Sophia Christodoulou(Gosling) in a very long encounter that was dominated at the baseline, but Edie ground Sophia down with her consistency.
Mia Wainwright again played very well and gave Teagen Bush (Edgbaston priory) a real test, but was broken serving to stay in the final set.
Josephine Kunz is a quality player and has beaten everyone she has played very comfortably. Isabelle Britton(Bath) had no answers to her big serve and accurate ground strokes
Semi final line up:
Edie Griffiths v Erin Pearce
Josephine Kranz v Teagan Bush
Doubles Semi Finals:
Carrier/Zagars v De Regt/Pikkaart
Hooper/Coffey v Brady/Marsh
Kunz/Schnyder v Christodoulou/Pearce
Copley/Walker v Romanova/Waas
Elizabeth Evans withdrew injured overnight giving a walkover to Leticia and Sirena
Just out of interest there are 150 2005 boys still ranked inside the top 450, so expect to see significant ranking improvements in January.
The girls are much less as they tend to transition early. 100 will drop out of the top 500.
Max Carrier lost pretty easily to Ilias Worthington
And will play Jay Johnson- Hauldren who won in three sets over the top seed
Tegan posted an excellent score against the top seed but it wasn't quite enough. Erin made the final, winning in three sets over Edie, which finished off a very good week for her.
BOYS SFs:
(6) Illias Worthington def. (3) Max Carrier 6-3 6-3 (7) Jay Johnson Hauldren def. (1) Luke Hooper 6-1 2-6 6-0
The boys results not quite what I expected(Max was 50 -50 and i expected Luke to win), but looking at the ages
Jay is 16, but 2006 - so about to turn 17
Luke is 17 and 2006
Ilias is 17 and 2005 - so about to turn 18
Max is 16 and 2007
Especially on the boys side, age is a key factor in results.
