Now Mimi - hope she is in one of her ruthless moods! Mimi gets the first break in the second game - but she was taken juice in the first game and had break points against her serve so looks like this could be tight. Well done though. Shame I am shouting at a scoreboard and can't see the actual match!

Mimi also loses 6-4 6-4 An improvement on the European final in terms of games won, but the clay queens progress. We play Spain tomorrow for the bronze medal. When we met them in European qualifying it went to a 10-8 match tiebreak win in the doubles - otherwise we wouldn't be here.

Bronze would be fine! We would beat them on grass!

Shame but this Czechia team seems strong.

Good news is with Hannah and Mika next year we should have another good shot.

Yes. Good effort.

But clay was always going to be a tough ask.

Good luck to them against the Spanish

Will be interesting to see how the Czechs get on against the USA team

I was impressed by Iva Jovic today

Hannah and Mimi selected for singles again today, and Hannah has just started. In the first meeting between the teams Hannah beat their number 2. Today Spain have a different second player Lorena Solar Donoso, but same number 1, Charo Esquiva Banuls, who beat Mimi previously.

In summary yesterday

SF

GBR 0 Czechia 2

Hannah Klugman lost to Alena Kovackova 4-6 4-6
Mingge Xu lost to Laura Samsonova 4-6 4-6

Congratulations to Mimi, Hannah and Hep, as well as their Captian Katie.  Great job and on clay, usually our nemesis! Augurs well for the future senior team.
