Mimi coasted through 6-2 6-1 so we join Czechia, Spain and the USA (who all won 2-0) in the semis
Well done team! Who do we play in the semis?
Top seed Czechia. We lost easily to the same team in the European finals, but they have changed the order of their two main players, since then, so Hannah will play Kovackova and Mimi Samsonova (who she beat in the Beijing final) assuming all are fit.

Hep and Mimi win the short set doubles in 25 minutes 4-0 4-0
Well thats good - little more time for R and R - also better chance for Hannah to recover. Are the Czech team number one seeds based on team results? Im just looking at WTA rankings and Hannah and Mimi seem to be above them?

Seeding is based on a combination of factors, including WTA, ITF and regional rankings, along with team results. The two Czech singles players Laura Samsonova and Alena Kovackova are the highest ranked number 1 and number 2 using junior ITF rankings, the team won the European qualifying event, and we only won a total of 10 games against them in the final. Hence there was never any likelihood of us being seeded ahead of the Czechs. The question mark would have been where to seed the US. They have won more Junior BJK/Fed Cups than any other country in recent years, though the Czechs have also won a few. In a sense that doesn't really matter as the number 1 and 2 seeds meet in the final if they progress as expected.
Tomorrow Spain v USA has been selected for streaming, which is reasonable given the US haven't been picked up to now. So far the USA have won all 24 sets, without any of them being extended beyond 6-4
Semi-finals about to start with Hannah and Mimi nominated against the Czech top 2 as expected. For completeness:
QF
Sweden 0 GBR 3
Lea Nilsson lost to Hannah Klugman 6-7(4) 6-1 2-6
Nellie Taraba Wallberg lost to Mingge Xu 2-6 1-6
Deng Tiana / Taraba Wallberg lost to Oluwadare/Xu 0-4 0-4
At this phase of the competition if ties are resolved through singles matches (2-0) then the captains have the option of agreeing short sets (as here), cancelling (as Spain-Australia did) or playing full sets (as Brazil - USA)
Strangely the status of Hannah's match remains as 'called' over 30 minutes since play started on all the other courts. Perhaps the electronics have failed on court 4
Finally life on the scoreboard which rapidly moves to 4-6 3*-2 from Hannah's perspective. The seven games won so far matches that achieved when she played Alena Kovackova in the European Junior Championships last year
Meanwhile in the other semi the USA experienced their first extended set, but Tyra Grant edged the tiebreak and ran away with the second 6-1 to put the USA 1-0 up against Spain
