Boys & Girls: J30 Liverpool, GB - hard (Week 45)

Thanks for the report, paulisi

I'm very much looking forward to see Rosie play - she's been quite a big name for her age but I've never seen her

Appreciate the notes, and hope the athletics went well

Shame to see that Celine Ricaud had to give a walkover.

Liana Sharratt Blanskby obviously played a very tight first set with Sarah Copley and then died away a bit when she lost it.

Great to see 13 year-old Rosie Cho still going great guns

Sarah Copley was obviously spurred on by paulisi saying she'd been playing poorly for a set and a half of match earlier this week

She makes the final, beating young Rosie, and will play the 6th seed Turkish girl who needed three sets to beat qualifier, Sophie Johnstone

Final: (3) Sarah Copley (GBR) v (60 Nehir Tuna (TUR)

It's an all GB final in the boys

Final: Harry Lumb v Charlie Swaine

Both boys are 17 and unseeded, so good luck to both

The Turkish girl is based at Bath, is she not?

I don't know, Lambda, I'm afraid - I expect you're right but I haven't come across her till now

Congrats to our boys' doubles winners:

Boys: Jesse Clarkson & Enrico Franchi

In the girls, Eva Senior & Charlotte Holmes will be taking on the TUR/AUS pair

Yes, correct, Lambda, she is an academy player at Bath.  Tall girl, if I remember that correctly.

Thanks, both of you.

Slightly strange that Nehir's based in the UK but has only played one UK ITF event this year before this one? Lots of events elsewhere ....

I see she's also entered for the Liverpool J60 next week, though.

(Which - to jump the gun a bit - has a really interesting line-up in the girls )

Tennis Europe U14 event, Liverpool

We're into the QF stage

A shout-out to Scotland's Aadya IYER CHADALAWADA who beat the 2nd seed, Tara LAWAL

Tennis Scotland have also been hyping up Hanna AUGUSTYNSKA this year, who is third seed here, and doing well

Interestingly named, T'nae Diamond PAISLEY, is also in the QFs - she made the national news as the girl who played against the hologram of Emma Raducanu recently

Other GB girls in the quarters are Bethany Pratt, Daisy Wootton and Lisa Bolton

In the boys, second seed Eric Lorimer is into the QFs. Eric is the GB U14 2023 runner-up

In that U14 National final, Eric was beaten by Wales' Niall PICKERD-BARUA, who is 5th seed here, and also into the QFs

Other GB players in the last 8, are Denzell Darkey; Robbie Taylor, Alex Mirrington; Brandon Ratanavong and Scott Watson

Hi CD.  Nehir has played a few LTA tournaments over the past year and beaten some very good players.  I expect her to do well.  She's born 2008.

Am dead jealous, paulis

Meanwhile, in the TE U14s, Denzell beat Eric Lorimer, the second seed. And shout-out to Brandon Ratanavong who beat the top seed from Ireland

The SFs are:

Brandon Ratanavong v Scott Watson

Denzell Darkey v Niall PICKERD-BARUA
