Other events, 2023 - week 42

The two J100s in Botswana have, frankly, been extremely easy points.

Which the 2009-born Penickova twins have taken/are taking great advantage of.

Our players have had mixed results in R1 today

Grace Chinwike had to retire after losing the first set.

Tamara Kuti lost in three

Seeded 7, Alisha Ndukwu lost too

BUT Elizabeth Evans got an excellent, easy win over the 3rd seed, ranked 600 places higher than her

Also, in the boys, Max Carrier won too

J60 Baku

Casey Mauro lost a desperately close R1 match against the 7th seed

J60 Denmark

Henry Best lost in R1

J30 Ivory Coast

Darsh Patel lost in R1

J30 Réunion

Yahs Bahalkar is top seed and got a BYE through to R2 (he was in Madagascar last week, and Rwanda the week before......not clocking up eco-Brownie points.....)

Sairama Srihar****Allam lost in R1

J30 Saudi

R1 wins for Issah Ali and Harry Redfern, and Zayna Ayub in the girls

J30 Turkey

ZainDaim-Pan (LL) lost in R1

Both Issah+ and Zayna+ made it through to the SFs in dubs before losing out

J60 Hungary

Max Castle lost in the singles but got a win in dubs

J30 Netherlands

R1 BYE for Martino Colibella

And R1 wins for (q) Daniel Franco-Key and (q) Nicholas Fisk

Just for clarity the 2 tournaments where the Penickova twins have dominated are in Accra, Ghana. Elizabeth Evans posted a win today, so meets top seed Kristina P in the semis. Max Carrier lost his quarter-final

Thank you, David - you're SO diplomatic

As in, 'just for clarity' means 'when CD has written Botswana every time, please read Ghana' .....

.... .....

But, yes, an excellent win for Elizabeth Evans (age 15) today - it will be a big boost for her rankings

Although, as you say, Max lost, as did Grace & Tamara in their doubles final
