Murray serving to stay in the match:

15-0: Blake sends a forehand long.

15-15: Andy winds up for a big forehand winner but just, just misses the sideline

30-15

30-30: Blake smashes a return down the line, Murray's speed enables him to get that one back into court but Blake is at the net and he powers away the smash.

Murray wins the next two points to take the game. The first time he's held serve since early in the first set. He holds his arms aloft in triumph. LOL !!

Woweee, he held!

Just staving off the inevitable, I'm afraid. But 6-3 looks better than 6-2.

So he holds for 5-3. I don't think he'll break again though! (being negative worked last time!)

(Greg fans will be pleased he keeps his Brit no. 1 spot a week longer)

Blake is not to be denied unfortunately.

15-0: Murray sends another shot out, trying to put Blake under pressure

30-0: Blake feathers a drop shot winner with plenty of backspin so the balls dies in the court

40-0

GSM Blake, a final backhand into the net and sadly Murray is out.

It didn't work this time though. That must have been a heck of a quick service game from Blake to take the match.

Not one Andy should have won, but one that a lot of people thought he might.

Ah well. Here's hoping for a good draw in Paris.

I really didn't expect that. What do people think. Was he just outplayed or did he under perform. How good was Blake? How do you rate his chances in Paris?

Blake was excellent - his returning game was top drawer but, Andy HAS to be able to protect his serve better. He couldn't do that, he was just blown off the court by the pace and power of Blake and it was a pretty convincing beating sadly.

I just feel bad for him - his returning game is so good but his serve is killing him.

Been checking other boards where people were watching, the general impression is that Blake was playing brilliantly, Andy not bad but not good enough.

Heck, Blake is a top 10 player, the no 5 seed, ok not known for playing well on clay but recently nearly all the claycourters seem to have been doing badly while those not renowned for liking the red stuff have been doing remarkably well.

edited for typo!

When can we expect Andy to mature physically and take these guys on at the power game? Within the next year?
