What a shame. Would love Cash and Patten to have met.
Yeah - so would I. Im sort of pleased Henry was the one getting through though, rightly or wrongly it felt Julian instigated the split but I could be wrong in that!
L16: (8) Jack Draper WR 106 defeated (Q) Tristan Lamasine (FRA) WR 356 by 4 & 4
Bit of a struggle to serve it out - broken twice in the process!
THat's a decent result
Tristan is very inconsistent - his ranking is probably fair.
BUT he is one of those players who has the potential for a whole load more, a large amount of talent, and he always plays better in home events than abroad. So if you happen to get him on a good day, at home, you're playing someone who is miles better than their ranking

Would be good if we could get the background at some stage. Its still a little baffling to me. They had an enforced break due to Henrys injury and yet returned to play so well together at the US Open.

my instinct (and with no evidence). Henry gets injured; Julian plays with one or two new partners, including Galloway. Galloway wants to establish a new partnership, hits if off with Julian and they do ok; Julian's head is turned, Galloway is ranked higher than Henry and can get them into a higher level of event etc. So Julian decides to go with Galloway, knows this before the US Open but they are entered into that anyway so J and H play it, but the pairing was ended by Julians head being turned.
Saw some of that, very enjoyable game! Does he always come to the net so often? Or is that just due to the fast surface? Excited to see how far he can go

Yes, he's always comes to the net a lot
I think (a) he enjoys it - he always has done, but also (b) he's realised that he's not going to take after his mother and grow to be a tall guy, so he needs to have different weapons and mixing it up, with classic approach shots, sneaky coming in, 'contre-temps' as the French say, serve and volley, whatever, will all help him keep the opponent off guard.
