RE: Boys & Girls: J300 Repentigny, Canada, hard (week 35)

I think Isabelle is 3rd in line for a possible special exempt at the moment. Will need to keep to look out for Ela Nala Milic and Francesca Gandolfi's results tomorrow should Isabelle win.

If they both lost in the next round which round would Isabelle have to reach? Thanks.

US Open qualifying starts a day earlier than usual, on Thursday, with qualifying sign-in deadline at 6pm tomorrow.  Hence Isabelle may have a dilemma tomorrow. She has a very winnable match against the young American Capucine Jauffret, but wins for both the aforementioned girls would mean Isabelle misses out on the US Open, if she wins as well.  If she is scheduled after her rivals that may help her strategy

Just for completeness, Hannah & Mimi won their doubles yesterday, as did Oliver and partner

Milic is now in the US Open main draw directly, so Isabelle should no longer have a dilemma.

In junior tennis, are you able to get special exempts for higher grade events?

Yes - 2 Special Exempts available for most events, up to 1 grade higher (J500 count as the same grade as Grand Slams, both formerly Grade A events).  Hence the only tournament you could get an SE into the US Open is this one

That is welcome news.  Hope Isabelle is aware of this. If not Milic lost heavily today, probably while Isabelle is/was on court (no score from her match yet.  They are playing indoors because of inclement weather and Mimi has posted a 3 set win

Thanks Lamda and DavidC thats's really helpful.

Well done all the girls and a good effort from Oliver.

Isabelle has beaten Gae last year in two sets also on a hard court. Hopefully a good omen.
