I see they have just been scheduling 2 day session matches on Ashe before the 2 night matches. My mind may be playing tricks but hasn't it for years been 3 in the day ( which then often overruns )?
Today on Ashe, Gauff and Djokovic have won in 1 hour 16 minutes and 1 hour 59 minutes respectively.

I think so, but 3 matches starting at 11.
Actually it is something they have done over the past few years, although combining with 3 matches on other days.
So (4),Rune, (5) Ruud and (7) Tsitsipas are all out already from the bottom half, plus Djokovic's bracketed L16 opponent, Auger-A (15) - though he has been in no sort of form anyway.
So Team America provide the highest remaining seeds in that half : (9) Fritz, (10) Tiafoe, and (14) Paul.
I guess most folk have been expecting Djokovic to reach the final whatever but I hope some guys stick around and give him a bit of a game.
I hope it's not ominous but this reminds of Liam Broady's first set against Shapovalov in the third round at Wimbledon when Shapo just didn't turn up. Jack serving for the set at 5-2.
