Straightforward for Viktor but a tough match in prospect next against a 14 year old based at the Rafael Nadal Academy, who topped the Tennis Europe under 14 rankings last year and won the Junior Orange Bowl.

R2

(11) Viktor Frydrych v Lorenzo Camino (ITA) 6-4 6-1

R3

(11) Viktor Frydrych v Ivan Ivanov (BUL)

Viktor tames the prodigy to reach his second clay court J300 quarter-final of the year. Another strong opponent lies in wait - the 4th seed Petr Brunclik. Current Czech strength in boys as well as girls is shown by having 6 of the 8 quarter-finalists here

R3

(11) Viktor Frydrych d. Ivan Ivanov (BUL) 2-6 6-3 6-1

QF

(4) Petr Brunclik (CZE) v (11) Viktor Frydrych

No further joy for Viktor, who list in singles and doubles today, but he has built up a consistent nest of points over the summer to put him in the top 50 (2006 and later) so is in good shape to make the Australian Open and French Open main draws next year

QF

(4) Petr Brunclik (CZE) d. (11) Viktor Frydrych 6-4 6-1
