Boys & Girls: U14/U12/U11 National Championships, Nottingham, hard (Week 33)

I saw a bit of the boys' U12 final

Very close between Kamran and Sam Riley - not much to choose between them and, in the big picture, not players next to whom I would put big asterisks, but a very good match, great effort from both boys, decent tennis and some nice moments.

Talking of which, I note that Liv Zingg was runner-up in the Swiss U12 national championships last year. I knew she used to play for Switzerland (and I assume her dad is Swiss - Zingg is a very Swiss name) but I didn't realise it was quite so recent .....

Thanks for the heads-up.  I hadn't clocked Liv's Swiss ancestry.  It's clear from her social media that she has been based in the UK for a number of years.

There's a nice list summarising all the singles and doubles winners, and their coaches, and where they train.

Khadija is listed as having no coach and no training base but it's possible she simply didn't provide those details, for whatever reason. I've seen her name on LTA lists before (training for U10s, for instance), so she's obviously not completely off the grid.
