Always nice to see our youngsters playing on clay at home
This is a J30 so obviously, from a spectator/fan view, most interesting in terms of how our youngest, promising players do
Girls:
Hollie Smart (who made the U14 Final at Wimbledon) has qualified and made the main draw
As has Edie Griffiths, who is the LTA's other main 2009 hopeful, as well as Hollie (and not counting Hannah K, of course)
In the main draw, Sophie Bekker (2008) is the top seed, with Isabella Wong (2007) second
Other good interest in Celine Ricaud (2009), Isabelle Britton (2008), Sophia Kovacheva (2008), Gabby Read (Hannah's little sister) and Eloise Newberry (2008)
Boys:
Lawrie Wilkin is top seed, followed by Conor Flynn
THere's a wildcard for Pavana Nrshinga (age 14) whose name I've seen around.
