Didn't Pullin lose every game she played at Wimbledon like 0 and 12 or something. Let's hope Hep has a better future than that!

Just a reminder that Ellie Blackford and Given Roach have a spot here thanks to having won the U18 doubles title

Before their final at the Nationals, Ellie hadn't been told that the place was on offer.

She only found out after they won.

And prompty burst into tears, bless

I do hope they have a good match

Gabia found it tough against the Japanese seed, who had a good run at Roehampton going down 0 & 1. Mimi and Hannah R are on court in the early stages

The first set was a struggle for Mimi with some long games on her serve, but despite a couple of double faults she takes the tiebreak 8-6

Hannah R lost 6-1 6-2 against the Roehampton finalist

Can someone fill me on this player, please? I don't know her name or background Stojsavljevic

Mika. 2008. Top LTA prospect. Coached by Lewandowski.

Heard that her parents are dead committed to getting her to be a pro, but don't know how true that is.

Strong player, tall, great physique for tennis, decent technique, will do well (all a little 'taught' for me but it's maybe a little unfair)

Yes. But she did well. Her opponent is 18. First round. Bound to be nervous. I thought she played a very decent match.

Mika played with Hannah K as the basis of our under 14 team last at the World Juniors last year. She held her own for most of the first set before rather meekly surrendering serve to lose the set 7-5

Mimi's score was 7-6(6) 6-4

I think she should be happy - it was difficult on Court 4, third on, with everyone else winning. Should give her a lot of confidence. Go Mimi!
