Some interesting line ups today:

Ranah is playing the girl who took out the third seed in the last round
Mimi is playing the girl who beat Hep in the last round and has a CH 267 WTA ranking
Mika is playing one of the girls who Hannah and Isa beat in the doubles but has a WTA ranking at 15 and beat Ranah at RG
Hannah is playing someone who beat both Mimi and Clervie Ngounoue at Roehampton and has a WTA 600 ranking, having reached the QFs of a W40.

No easy matches in the third round!

Seen very little of it but Ranah has come from 1-3 down to claim the first set 6-3

Pace started well, swinging through her forehand nicely.

Ranah was good, serving well, doing some nice dinks at the net, but prone to UEs, especially on her forehand, which often breaks down

And then Ranah carried on, but Pace seemed to get a bit rattled, missed a few balls, got more rattles, Ranah was playing more solidly, still doing some of the clever stuff, and won 5 games on the trot

Ranah had Pace on the ropes there - the Italian girl was serving double faults, missing regulation forehands and gesturing to her camp that life was awful

But Ranah missed a whole load of doddy shots too and instead of closing the door on her, gave her a way back in.

Finally at the 9th time of asking (in the set) Ranah got the break at 4-4 against a very ordinary opponent and served out in style to win 6-3 6-4

Yeh, Ranah !

What amazing serving

Everything else had its moments, good and bad, but that was a real serving display !

Has Ranah now made the QF or better at every junior slam?

Mimi lost 3 & 2

I thought she played a very good match for one set and a half

But then rather tamely gave the end of the match to her opponent, which was a shame, as the rest had been good tennis, playing her level, not that far off, even though the result wasn't really in doubt
