I noticed the juniors qualifying is taking place at courts the itf site is labelling ROE1, ROE2 etc. presumably this is some location in Roehampton?

Is it the same venue as the Roehampton J300 that is taking place at the moment or are we in different locations?

Im not up to speed but presume it is either the NTC or the old Bank of England club (where main qualies for men and women take place? )

Forgive my naivety !

It's at the AELTC Wimbledon Qualifying and Community Sports Centre Roehampton to give it's formal name (aka old BoE). Same location as the J300.

Im sure this will warrant a separate thread in due course, the 14U entry list is out with Mark Ceban and our 14U National Grass Court finalists, Rhys Lawlor and Leo Wright accepting their invitations

In the main draw our 2 direct entries have to take on the top 2 seeds - not as daunting as it might seem as both lost in the first round at Roehampton (the top seed to Luca Pow), but nevertheless there are many easier looking draws.

R1 (L64)

(1) Juan Carlos Prado Angelo (BOL) v Henry Searle
Jakub Filip (CZE) v (WC) Charlie Robertson
(4) Cooper Williams (USA) v (WC) Luca Pow
(WC) Benjamin Gusic Wan v Keegan Rice (CAN)
Nicolai Budkov Kjaer (NOR) v (WC) Zach Stephens
(WC) Viktor Frydrych v Charlie Camus (AUS)
Volodymyr Iakubenko (UKR) v (WC) Henry Jefferson
(WC) Freddy Blaydes v Kevin Edengren (SWE)
(15) Tomasz Berkieta (POL) v (WC) Phoenix Weir
Oliver Bonding v (2) Rodrigo Pacheco Mendez (MEX)

Charlie played a solid first set to take it 6-4 but Ben and Zach have struggled so far. Zach won 1 game in the opener, and that was one more than Ben - Ben however has an early break in the second

Ben has endured a torrid grasscourt season winning 1 game at Roehampton and 2 here. Although he was overpowered he added to the problem with an unusually high number of unforced errors in the bits I saw.

Charlie was always in charge against his Czech opponent, playing particularly well towards the end, comfortable coming to the net and winning 6-4 6-2 Zach lost 6-1 6-2 (didn't see)

I came to tbe boys at 11.30 and didn't watch Ben and Zach as the first set scores were so one-sided

But I watched Charlie's match - and a very pleasant one it was too

He won pretty easily, 6-4 6-2, playing nice grass court tennis
