The final qualification events start tomorrow with the under 16 boys attempting to qualify for their final, and then for the Junior Davis Cup. The team of Oliver Bonding, Benjamin Gusic Wan and Zechariah Hamrouni should be too strong for their opening opponents Bosnia & Herzegovina
Our boys team (under 14?) seems to be Ceban, Lawlor and Wright
Finishing in the top 6 qualified us for the world juniors
As expected the under 16s cruised past Bosnia & Herzegovina with Ben winning 6-1 6-1 and Oli 6-1 6-0. They now need to beat 3rd seeds Norway tomorrow to qualify for the European finals
Good news from Valencia as the under 16 boys reach their European Summer Cup final after a 2-0 win over Norway (Ben won 6-2 6-2 and Oli 7-6(2) 6-4). They play a fairly strong Spanish team, who are also the host nation, to decide who will be seeded in the finals, which start on Monday in France
I expected the under 16 team to lose to Spain, but the tie was disappointingly uncompetitive. Ben lost 2-6 3-6 and Oli lost 3-6 1-6 so they will not be seeded for the finals in Le Touquet, France starting Monday.
Nevertheless we have a total of 6 of our 8 teams (boys and girls U12 to U18) through to the European finals, which is the best since 2011 (7 teams)
Mark Ceban is second on court , playing a Turkish junior - some sort of exhibition? Nonetheless, great stage for him.
Good spot Jon. It looks like it is some continuation of the scheme they set up last year which Mark also took part in. However the timing is a bit odd, as both Mark and his Turkish opponent are taking part in the World Juniors starting Monday, and I would have expected them to already be in the Czech Republic preparing for that
The European Summer Cup under 16 and under 18 finals start tomorrow with our teams up against it. The under 16s draw second seeds Germany, who have 3 players ranked just outside the ITF top 100, comfortable on clay, whilst Oli, though higher ranked, has yet to win an ITF match on the surface in 2023.
The under 18s draw top seeds France who have 3 players ranked inside the ATP top 1000, led by Gabriel Debru (ATP 373)
As feared Germany were too strong for our Junior Davis Cup hopefuls, but at least they were more competitive than against Spain. They must win tomorrow to keep their JDC hopes alive. Live scoring is available here

The under 18s currently trail France 1-0 after Viktor Frydrych lost 2-6 0-6 to Arthur Gea
Charlie posted a creditable 4-6 4-6 defeat against the French ATP 373 before Viktor and Henry won the dead doubles - meaning a 2-1 defeat for the under 18s and a play-off for the minor places - tomorrow they take on Spain led by former JWR1 Martin Landaluce
Good news from Le Touquet as the under 16 boys sneak into the Junior Davis Cup by the skin of their teeth, meaning that all 4 of our U14 / U16 teams have made their world final - something that hasn't happened for a long time if at all. The boys claim the last spot, as Spain won their 5th place play-off match, and are already guaranteed their place as hosts. Hence 6th place will be good enough, even if we lost to Spain again tomorrow. Winning such a close doubles will be a big boost, but Oli seems to be struggling for confidence, having not won an ITF match since March, and his only wins in this competition have been against players ranked outside the ITF top 1000

The under 18 boys went down 2-1 to Spain despite an impressive 3-6 7-6(6) 7-6(5) win for Charlie over the JWR18. Viktor and Henry were edged out of the doubles 12-10 in the match tiebreak. They play Sweden for 7th place
The under 16 boys lost 2-1 to Spain (an improvement on their earlier clash) with Ben winning his singles 6-1 6-2. Oli lost 4-6 3-6 and Ben/Zech lost 3-6 4-6) so they end up in 6th place. Photos courtesy of captain Martin Weston
Consolation for the under 18 boys as they avoid last place with a 2-1 victory over Sweden. Henry lost a 3 hr 15 minutes marathon featuring a couple of tiebreaks, before Charlie chalked up another win and Viktor/Charlie clinched the tie 10-7 in the match tiebreak
