Week 23 - ITF W100 - Surbiton, Great Britain Grass

Boulter playing freely at the end, some lovely points won, and the strong serve keeping Golubic at bay. Very good win.

Yay   biggrin

So we will have a new GB #1 called Katie

And great that it iwill be to such an extent a result of a good positive week from both of them and others rather than purely Emma backing into the pack.

Excellent points week for these 3! Would love to see one or two get US Open direct entry!

Great week for our girls. Let this be the start of good things across the grass season.

So pleased for our women doing so well, particularly the Katies after struggling so much with injures. I think Katie S said she hasn't been able to play Surbiton for the previous three years it's been held because of injuries. Hers was the smile of the day. Great to have one finalist and hopefully two finalists. Would love to see Boulter vs Swan.

Miyazaki will be no pushover for Swan. In a courtside interview prior to their last meeting in Glasgow, Katie said that Yuriko was not the best match-up for her, in terms of playing style. Though that was also hardcourt and indoors, and Swan in the match was taped up with an injury, which hampered her serve. Miyazaki is quite a versatile player, very good at taking the ball early and redirecting it with pace.

Miyazaki could play a Brit in every round.

Poor Lily misses out on Nottingham as the Brits are too successful and there were only 2 main draw wildcards available, not 3

There is the distinct possibility that atleast 1 of those WCs will become available after a withdrawal so she may get one still.
