I guess Jodie has been out for a while but wow!!! Her serve when working is the only thing keeping her in this. Can see a big drop in ranking as shes a lot of points to lose over the next 6 weeks. Really hope She can get her fitness back

Great to see Lily win. She has limited power but always remains calm and plays to the very best of her ability. Frankly I am always astonished when Jodie wins a match and cannot believe she is as highly ranked as she is. She always. gives the impression of believing that she only has to hit the ball hard to win.
Not sure I can recall a Brit doing their damndest to not get into the top 100 despite being on the very brink. James Ward springs to mind where he had a huge window to muster a minimal amount of points, kept putting it off and putting it off only to finally make it in last chance saloon with a run at Wimbledon.
R2: DART, Harriet (GBR) 135 (CH=84 2022) v MARIA, Tatjana (GER) (1) 67 (CH=46 2017)
They met in Miami in 2022 with Tatiana winning 3 & 3
R2: SWAN, Katie (GBR) 162 (CH=118 2022) v DODIN, Oceane (FRA) (7) 122 (CH=46 2017)
R2: LACY, Isabelle (GBR) Q 852 (CH=808 2023) {16yo JCH=49} v VICKERY, Sachia (USA) 170 (CH=73 2018)
R2: MIYAZAKI, Yuriko Lily (GBR) WC 209 (CH=169 2023) v SILVA, Eden (GBR) WC 372 (CH=298 2023)
They have met three times before with Lily winning one and Eden two.
R2: BOULTER, Katie (GBR) (8) 125 (CH=82 2019) v KARTAL, Sonay (GBR) WC 277 (CH=195 2023)

Go back to 2007/8, when we hadn't had a top 100 girl for nine years. We had Anne Keothavong, Elena Baltacha, Katie O'Brien, Mel South and Naomi Cavaday all fighting to be first without ever managing to get over the line. Finally Anne won an event in Lebanon in the middle of a civil war and broke through. Once the dam had broken several others poured through.
That was Harriet winning by the skin of her teeth....
But maybe the nerves are out of the way now... (I say more in hope than in belief)
But she won, so net net, all good
Get your 2 wins for the day, phew
Not in any kind of form yet against the world 196. Hope she can pick it up for next round. Keep going Harriet! Tougher match up next against no 1 seed anked 67. Not sure how she plays on grass though.
Harriet's next opponent Tatjana Maria was a semi finalist at Wimbledon 2022 beating Sakkari and Ostapenko in the process.
Based on Peter's post above with the R2 draws,we've got two guaranteed wins.
And I'm going for Katie Swan to beat Océane
And even Isa is possible against Vickery (never really liked her game)
And Harriet has no chance...
