I know Emma will be overraken by the others, but TBH not impressed. I dont think when she comes back there is any of them who can touch her. Not really looking forward for our top British woman in the rankings being outside of the top 100. Someone needs to up for this and grab it and it could come from anywhere if someone has a good run, it is all to play for for the next few months.

I think it won't be easy for Emma coming back after the injury / ops. Everyone she plays will want to beat a Slam winner. In some ways it's better to separate the glorious year she had from what is now to follow. I think she needs to go back to being the promising youngster in the Britpack, and build up slow for the next 1-2 years, without mega-expectations on her shoulders. Win some of the ITF lower tournaments, continue her development and enjoy the journey. Emma's got plenty of time on her side.

Also, I don't think it's fair on the other top Brits to always be compared to the Raducanu who shot to fame, when that player maybe has since moved back into the pack.

With Emma not having any further points to drop until August and the others having varying degrees of 2022 grass court points to drop in the next few weeks,, Emma could very well be GB #1 going into Wimbledon. And even after Wimbledon if that doesn't go too well for any #1 contenders. I really do hope that she isn't #1 then!!

Absolutely give Emma time again withiut too much short term expectations. But to be frank, anywhere near her best she is a class apart from the other Brits, therefore if motivated, healthy and injury free I would absolutely expect her to in time reestablish a big rankings gulf to the others.

Wrist injuries can be serious in tennis players. Remember Laura Robson, Wimbledon junior champion at 14, Olympic silver medal at 18, reached a career high of 27 and then had wrist and hip operations and never got back close to her original form. Emma may come back and surge back up the rankings or she may struggle.We can only wait and hope at this stage and enjoy whatever she can offer when she does return.

With Emma out of action this is all a bit academic. Emma is our best player by a mile. The others can arrange deckchairs on the Titanic but in the long term it won't matter.

I know people are bemoaning the state of women's tennis in the UK, but at least we have 7 players here in R2. And we'll have 2-5 in the QFs (I'm going for 3 with an outside chance of 4)

The men's basically had one in R2 (Ryan) who's now lost

I know that, technically, yes, there's Andy and Dan. But neither of those should be playing. THey don't have the right to play. Only by wildcards. So we have a challenger with only 1 challenger player in R2 - who lost

As far as this event goes, I'd take the women, any day. And not to mention that Andy, unless he's playing coy, is really playing in 'last chance saloon' - so, maybe, actually I should include him in the challenger level players :(
