Blimey, if the stats are to be believed both girls got all their 1st serves in. Not seen that before.

Hannah's scoreboard went weird towards the end. It was then frozen for a while so I wouln't believe the stats showing on it.

Also to confirm that Hep lost 6-0 6-1 against Grant, who is evidently on form.

The main draws are now out. Henry Searle has a reasonably kind draw, but Oliver Bonding meets a seed in good form, having reached the Milan J500 semis and a J300 semi and final before that

In the girls Ella McDonald is drawn against the girl she beat in the Durban final last year - both having struggled for wins this year. Mimi Xu has a challenging draw against one of the tournament favourites - Milan J500 winner Kaitlin Quevedo. Ranah Stoiber has a decent draw against an Aussie who Hannah Klugman beat in the U14 Orange Bowl. Like Ranah her best results are not on clay. Hannah appears also to have a decent draw against a Czech girl without the star record of many of her contemporaries

Boys R1 (L64)

Henry Searle v (WC) Thomas Faurel (FRA)
(15) Joel Schwaerzler (AUT) v Oliver Bonding

Girls R1 (L64)

Darja Suvirdjonkova (SRB) v (13) Ella McDonald
(4) Kaitlin Quevedo (USA) v Mingge Xu
(14) Ranah Akua Stoiber v Emerson Jones (AUS)
Amelie Smejkalova (CZE) v (Q) Hannah Klugman

I wonder what odds youd get for Klugman to be in WTA top 100 by age of 16?

Who knows but I thought I would look back and see when Mirra Andreeva who is 16 and just knocked out of RG by Coco Gauff and see where she was at 14, seeing as Mirra will join at ranking 98 or thereabouts following todays match. I am not an expert on here but I can see at 14 she beat Ranah in a J200 in Vigo and reached the quarter finals in 2022 in the RG juniors and the US open.  She was then I think 15. How you then get from juniors to WTA 98 is a hell of a jump!. Wishing Hannah lots of luck though.

I get odds for them being top-100, top-200 and top-500 ever.

I think Hannah, at age 11, was about 70:1 on top 100. Would have to check.

(might have been age 12, though, and they do come down quite quickly obviously)

Which was pretty tight.

Ranah is playing now and she is defending points from last year. 90 from the Singles (getting to R32) and 135 from the Doubles (getting to R16)
